About Laura Riley

Laura has worked and volunteered in mental/behavioral health for the past 25 years and comes to Rolling Hills Recovery with vast clinical experience in hospital, residential, partial care/intensive outpatient, and community outreach settings. She has provided substance abuse counseling, clinical coordination, clinical supervision, program development, and advocacy to individuals, families, and groups, specializing in children/adolescents, adults, & geriatric individuals with co-occurring disorders.

She takes pride in her knowledge and ability to help individuals and their families connect with and navigate various community and social service agencies to support their recovery and supervise new clinicians to provide the most comprehensive evidence-based treatment. 

Laura’s academic journey is a testament to her intellectual prowess and dedication to learning. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware, where she volunteered for 2 years at Delaware State Psychiatrics’ psychosocialization program in their male aggressive unit.

Her academic excellence and passion for helping others were recognized when she was appointed as a Teacher’s Assistant and Student tutor for the Neuropsychology course “Brain & Behavior.” She was also inducted into the PsiChi Honor Society and the Mortar Board National Honor Society, further validating her academic achievements. 

Laura then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, as well as certifications as a Behavioral Assistant and 2 Certificates of Eligibility through the Department of Education to teach grades K-12 and to teach Psychology.

She is currently Licensed as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), and an International Certified Clinical Supervisor (ICCS). She is currently working on completing a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to be eligible for mental health licensure. She has been inducted into the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. 

Laura’s passion for helping and motivating others toward change, her patience, and her experience with challenging behaviors have earned her professional accolades. She has initiated several successful socialization groups and events for individuals and their families.

She has taught engaging programming in conflict resolution, vocational/education rehabilitation, and cooking to chronically mentally ill/chemically addicted individuals to enhance their life skills. She also takes great pride in providing supervision to emerging counselors and assisting them in providing exceptional, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care to their clients. 

In her free time, Laura loves to stay active, read, cook, and spend time with her family. She believes in the mind/body/spirit connection to enhance overall wellness, including incorporating physical activity and mindfulness as a therapeutic alliance in recovery.
