United States, March 26, 2025 — Recovery isn’t just about getting sober; it’s about rebuilding a life filled with purpose and connection. Rolling Hills Recovery Center understands this deeply, which is why they’re proud to launch their new Alumni Event Program. Through this program, former clients return to the center to share their personal recovery journeys—where past and present participants connect, inspire one another, and strengthen the foundation for a brighter future.
A Commitment to Holistic and Individualized Care
Rolling Hills Recovery Center New Jersey Drug & Alcohol Rehab (RHRC) is known for its personalized approach to recovery. They focus on more than just addiction; they look at the emotional, physical, and spiritual sides of healing. The new Alumni Event Program is part of this way of thinking, centered on the idea that staying well for a long time is about connections and support.
One of the most powerful things about the Alumni Event Program is the opportunity it gives former clients to return to Rolling Hills and share their stories. These aren’t just “success stories”—they’re real, raw accounts of what it’s like to fight for sobriety, day after day. Alumni share their struggles, their triumphs, and everything in between, offering current clients something invaluable: hope.
Kerri Sullivan, a group facilitator at Rolling Hills, explains why this is so important:
“We created this program because recovery doesn’t end when treatment is over. The bond clients build here is deep, and leaving that behind can be hard. The alumni program gives our clients a way to stay connected, continue receiving support, and help others who are starting their journey.”
Helping Alumni Transition Back Into Life
Reintegration into everyday life can be one of the hardest parts of recovery. Whether it’s practicing the healthy coping skills learned during treatment, getting advice from a sponsor or mentor, or finding sober activities to keep them engaged, the Alumni Event Program is there to ensure that alumni stay grounded and supported.
For many, it’s more than quitting the use of drugs—it’s about learning how to live a full and meaningful life without turning to substances. The Alumni Event Program goes beyond sharing stories to providing real tools for success, including a directory of alumni who are available to offer guidance, mentorship, or just a listening ear. As well as continued access to Rolling Hills’ clinical staff, including doctors and mental health counselors, for ongoing support and educational resources to reinforce recovery principles and coping strategies.
“What I love about our alumni program is how it brings people together. It’s not just about staying sober—it’s about finding your footing again, says Mike Levy, the Executive Director of RHRC. “Our alumni are living proof that recovery is possible. They help others see they’re not alone. This program isn’t just about resources—it’s about building a community that stands together, no matter what.”
For many alumni, the Alumni Event is an opportunity to contribute to the community that was there for them during their toughest times. It’s a way to pass on the favor and assist others in discovering the same encouragement and resilience they themselves required once upon a time.
“Returning to Rolling Hills as a speaker is one of the most rewarding experiences of my recovery. I’m not just sharing my story to revisit the past; I’m sharing it because it’s a reminder of how far I’ve come—and how much you can, too. I know the doubt, the fear, the feeling that it’s not worth it. But trust me when I say this: you’re not alone in this fight, and you don’t have to do it by yourself. Recovery is hard—there’s no sugarcoating that. But it’s possible. And looking back, I’d never trade the strength, the peace, and the life I have now for anything. Joining this alumni program might feel like one more leap of faith, but it’s a leap that could change everything for you, just like it did for me. You deserve that chance.” says John D., a former client and active participant in the Alumni Event Program.
